How to use the sukanya samriddhi calculator

Rules used: deposits of ₹250 to ₹1.5 lakh a financial year for 15 years from opening; the account matures 21 years from opening; interest is compounded yearly. The rate for October to December 2026 is 8.2%. The government reviews it every quarter, so the calculation assumes it stays the same. Deposits are assumed to be made by 5 April each year so they earn interest for the whole year.

  1. Enter how much you’ll deposit each year (₹250 to ₹1.5 lakh).
  2. Keep the current 8.2% or try another rate.
  3. Enter her age when you open the account.
  4. Read the maturity value and the balance at 18.
