How to use the compress image
Photos are re-encoded in your browser at the quality you choose, and can be scaled down at the same time. Lower quality and smaller dimensions both reduce the file size.
- Drop one or more photos on the box.
- Set the quality. 70 to 80 looks almost the same as the original at a fraction of the size.
- Optionally limit the width. Phone photos are often 4000 px wide, far more than a screen needs.
- Tap Compress and download each photo.

How much smaller will my photo get?
Phone photos usually shrink by 70 to 90 percent at quality 75 with a 1920 px width limit, with no difference you’d notice on a screen.
I need an exact size like 50 KB. Can this do that?
Use Compress image to KB. It finds the best quality that fits under your target automatically.
Why is my PNG turned into JPG?
PNG is lossless, so it can’t be squeezed with a quality setting. Saving as JPG or WebP is what makes it smaller. Transparent areas turn white in JPG.
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Your photo is processed by your own browser and never sent to a server. You can even switch on airplane mode after the page loads.
