How to use the password generator
Passwords are created with your browser’s cryptographic random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues), the same source used for encryption keys.
- Choose random characters or a passphrase.
- Set the length and which characters to include.
- Tap Copy, and save it in a password manager.
Questions
How long should my password be?
At least 12 characters for most accounts and 16 or more for email and banking. A 4 to 5 word passphrase is both strong and easy to type.
Do you store the passwords?
No. The password exists only on this page in your browser and disappears when you close it.
