How to use the age calculator
Age is counted in completed years, then full calendar months, then remaining days, the same way it is usually counted for forms and age limits.
- Pick your date of birth.
- Leave "Age as on" as today, or set it to the date you need.
- Read your age in years, months and days.
Understanding your result
Your age is shown in completed years, then whole months, then days. For an exam or job cut-off, set “Age as on” to the date in the notification and compare the result with the age limits stated there.
Questions
How are months counted?
Full calendar months are counted first, then the days left over. When the day of the month hasn’t come round yet, days are borrowed from the previous month, so 31 January to 28 February counts as 0 months and 28 days.
How do I check if I am within an exam age limit?
Set "Age as on" to the cut-off date given in the notification (often 1 January or 1 August of the exam year) and compare with the minimum and maximum ages, including any relaxation for your category.
