How to use the date calculator
Day counts use the calendar, including leap years. Adding months keeps the same day of the month where it exists, otherwise it uses the last day of that month.
- To count days, pick the two dates. Tick “Include the end date” if both days should count.
- Choose a 5- or 6-day working week to count working days.
- To find a future or past date, pick a start date and add or subtract days, weeks, months or years.
Understanding your result
The difference counts calendar days between the two dates; tick “Include the end date” to count both days. Working days exclude weekends only, not public holidays, which differ by country and region.
Questions
Does the working-day count skip public holidays?
No. It skips weekends only, because holidays differ by state and employer. Subtract your holidays from the result.
How are months added at the end of a month?
If the day doesn’t exist in the new month, the last day is used. For example, 31 January plus one month is 28 February (29 in a leap year).
