RRB NTPC 2026 live photo and signature: step by step (CEN 06/2026 and 07/2026)
Checked on 4 November 2026. A guide from Gauritanaya.
This page is a reading aid only. On 4 November 2026 the RRB websites checked from here did not open, and rrbapply.gov.in returned an error. CEN 06/2026 dates below are from the PIB release of 11 October 2026. The same closing time is in two copies of the CEN 06 text. One copy’s file title says Final Draft. The detailed CEN on rrb.indianrailways.gov.in is final. If anything here is different from your CEN, follow the CEN.
RRB
Latest update
RRB NTPC 2026 forms are open for two notices.
- CEN 06/2026 is for Graduate posts.
- CEN 07/2026 is for Undergraduate (12th pass) posts.
In CEN 06/2026 you do not upload a ready photo. The form takes a live photo of you.
You only upload your signature. In the CEN 06/2026 text that was read, it must be JPG, 30–49 KB, at least 140 × 60 pixels.
CEN 08/2026 (Station Master) uses the same JPG band: 30–49 KB, at least 140 × 60 px, at least 100 DPI, black ink, and running handwriting. Its box is 50 mm × 20 mm. Read RRB Station Master CEN 08/2026 photo and signature.
CEN 07/2026 is the undergraduate notice. Its dates were not confirmed from a second source on 4 November 2026. Read that CEN before you use these steps for it.
Apply only on rrbapply.gov.in. Read your CEN on rrb.indianrailways.gov.in.
Check the steps below.
Key dates
| Event | CEN 06/2026 (Graduate) |
|---|---|
| Online application opened | 8 Oct 2026 |
| Last date to submit the form | 6 Nov 2026, up to 11:59 PM (23:59 hours) |
| Last date for fee payment | 8 Nov 2026 |
| Modification window (with fee) | 9–18 Nov 2026 |
CEN 06 dates: PIB release of 11 Oct 2026, which says 11:59 PM. Two copies of the CEN 06 text say 23:59 hours, which is the same time. Details filled in the Create an Account form, and the Chosen RRB, cannot be modified.
CEN 07/2026 dates are not in this table. They were not confirmed from two sources on 4 November 2026.
The form is accepted only after the fee is paid. The CEN says you get a confirmation of payment by email and SMS.
Do not wait for the last day. Portals get slow near the last date.
Size table
As per Para 14.4 and 14.5 of the CEN 06/2026 text that was read:
| Item | Format | Size / rule |
|---|---|---|
| Photograph | Live capture inside the form | No file to upload |
| Signature | JPG / JPEG | 30–49 KB, minimum 140 × 60 px (width × height) |
| Signature scan | — | At least 100 DPI |
| Signature box on the form | — | 35 mm × 20 mm (width × height). Keep the signature in the centre. |
| SC/ST certificate (only for free train travel pass) | Less than 400 KB |
140 × 60 px is the minimum. A bigger image is allowed if it stays within 30–49 KB.
Aim for 49 KB or less, not 50 KB.
Part 1: the live photo
What the CEN says
- You do not upload an old photo.
- The form takes your photo live, by laptop webcam or phone front camera.
- Do not click a photo of a printed photo or a photo on a screen. Such forms are rejected.
How to prepare
- Sit or stand in front of a plain white wall. No pictures, plants or people behind you.
- Wear dark, non-white clothes that cover your shoulders and chest.
- Remove cap, mask and glasses.
- Keep hair and cloth away from your face.
- Keep light on your face. No dark shadow, and no strong light behind you.
- Keep the camera at eye level.
How to capture
- Look straight at the camera. Keep a normal face.
- Keep your full face in the frame shown on screen.
- Your head should fill at least 50% of the photo.
- Elbows and below the chest should not be visible.
- Keep your eyes fully open. The photo will not be captured with closed eyes.
- Check the preview. You can retake it till you submit the form.
If the live photo does not match your ID
The CEN says the live photo is checked against your photo ID.
If it does not match, the form asks you to download Annexure VIII. Get it signed by a Gazetted Officer and upload it.

Part 2: the signature, step by step
Sign
- Take a plain white paper.
- Use a black ink pen.
- Sign in running handwriting (joined letters).
- Do not sign in BLOCK or CAPITAL letters.
- Sign it yourself. Make sure the full signature is clear.
Scan or photograph
- Scan at 100 DPI or more. A clear phone photo in good light can also work if it stays sharp. That phone-photo line is our advice, not a line in the CEN.
- Crop close to the signature. Keep only white paper around it.
Fix the size
- Open the free RRB signature preset in our resizer.
- Choose your signature image.
- Check that the result is JPG, at least 140 × 60 px, and between 30 KB and 49 KB.
- Download it.
Your file stays on your device.
Why is my signature below 30 KB?
A small, clean signature on white paper is a very light JPG. It often comes out under 30 KB.
If that happens, use a larger pixel size and keep JPG quality high. Our RRB photo and signature size guide explains this in detail.
Upload
- Upload the JPG in the signature step.
- Check the preview. The full signature must be inside the box and readable.
Common signature mistakes (CEN rejection grounds)
The CEN says a form can be rejected for these:
- Someone else's signature
- Non-white background
- Ink that is not black
- BLOCK or CAPITAL letters
- Blurred or low-resolution image
- Signature cut off or only partly visible
- Wrong image, blank image, or thumb impression
Sign the same way everywhere. The CEN says your signature must match at the exam, Document Verification, Medical Examination and appointment.
How to apply: step by step
- Read your CEN on rrb.indianrailways.gov.in.
- Open rrbapply.gov.in.
- Create an account. Enter your name, father's name, mother's name and date of birth exactly as in your 10th certificate.
- Choose one RRB only.
- Fill the form and post preferences.
- Take the live photo.
- Upload the signature (and SC/ST certificate PDF, if you want the free travel pass).
- Submit and pay the fee online (net banking, debit/credit card or UPI).
- Check the email and SMS for payment confirmation. Save a copy of your application.
Exam fee
As per Para 7.0 of the CEN:

| All candidates, except the list below | ₹500 | ₹400, after bank charges |
| SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, Female, Transgender, Minorities, EBC | ₹250 | ₹250, after bank charges |
EBC is not the same as OBC or EWS. Read Para 7.3 of the CEN if you claim EBC.
Do not make a second account
Made a mistake? Do not open a new account.
The CEN says:
- More than one application against the CEN will be summarily rejected.
- Such candidates are debarred from future RRB and RRC exams.
- This applies to forms sent to different RRBs, and to the same RRB.
Modification window and fee
You can change details after submission, during the modification window.
- CEN 06/2026: 9–18 Nov 2026
Rules from Para 17.0 of the CEN:
- Fee: ₹250 each time. It is non-refundable. Every candidate pays it.
- You can modify any number of times. You pay ₹250 each time.
- Changing from a concession category to a non-concession one? You also pay the fee difference of ₹250.
- You cannot change the details in the "Create an Account" form, including mobile number and email ID, or your chosen RRB.
Wrong date of birth?
Be careful. Name, parents' names and date of birth are entered in the Create an Account form (Para 1.6). Those details cannot be modified (Para 17.0).
Para 5.3 also says no later request to change the date of birth will be considered. A different date of birth can lead to disqualification.
So enter your date of birth exactly as in your 10th certificate. Check it twice before you submit.
