RRB Station Master CEN 08/2026: photo and signature

RRB has opened CEN 08/2026 for Station Master.

You do not upload a ready photo. The form takes a live photo (Para 16.5).

You upload your signature. It must be JPG, 30–49 KB, at least 140 × 60 px.

The signature box is 50 mm wide × 20 mm high.

Apply only on rrbapply.gov.in. Read the CEN on rrb.indianrailways.gov.in.

NTPC is a different notice. Its signature box is 35 mm × 20 mm. Read RRB NTPC 2026 live photo and signature.

Key dates

From the Important Dates table in CEN 08/2026:

Create an Account details and the Chosen RRB cannot be modified.

The modification fee is ₹250 each time. It is not refunded.

After 07.12.2026, RRBs will not take a request to change the form.

Do not wait for the last hour. The CEN says the site can get busy.

Exam fee

Para 10 of the CEN:

EBC is not OBC. EBC is not EWS. Read Para 10.2 before you claim EBC.

Pay online only. Net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI. You pay the service charges.

A form without the fee is rejected.

The form is accepted only after the fee is paid. You get a confirmation by email and SMS.

Age

Age is counted on 01.01.2027. Normal age is 20 to 33 years.

Para 8.2 gives these dates of birth. Both dates are included.

The SC, ST and OBC-NCL dates already include the community relaxation.

More relaxation, from Para 8.3. It is not added on top of another relaxation. You get the highest one you qualify for.

SC, ST and OBC-NCL candidates who apply against unreserved vacancies get no age relaxation (Para 8.4).

Date of birth must match your 10th certificate. A different date of birth leads to disqualification (Para 8.6).

What to upload

Live photo (Para 16.5)

• Do not upload an old photo.
• The form takes the photo live, by webcam or the phone’s front camera.
• Plain white background. No pictures, plants, or people behind you.
• Wear clothes that cover your shoulders and chest. Prefer plain dark colours. Not white.
• Camera at eye level. Look straight. Keep a normal face.
• Full face in the frame. Head fills at least 50% of the photo.
• Elbows, and the body below the chest, must not show.
• No cap. No mask. No glasses. Hair and cloth must not cover the face.
• Eyes fully open. A closed-eye photo is not captured, and it can be rejected.
• You can preview and retake until you submit.
• Do not photograph a printed photo or a photo on a screen. Such forms are rejected.

If the live photo does not match your photo ID, download Annexure VIII. Get it signed by a Gazetted Officer and upload it.

Signature (Para 16.6)

1. Sign it yourself, on plain white paper.
2. Use a black ink pen.
3. Use running handwriting (joined letters). Not BLOCK. Not CAPITAL. Not disjointed letters.
4. Scan at 100 DPI or more.
5. Save as JPG or JPEG only.
6. Keep the file between 30 KB and 49 KB.
7. Keep it at least 140 px wide × 60 px high.
8. Centre it in the box: 50 mm × 20 mm.

Open the Station Master signature preset. Your file stays on your device.

The CEN can reject the form for these signature faults (Para 16.6(c)):

• Someone else’s signature
• A background that is not white
• Ink that is not black
• BLOCK or CAPITAL letters
• A blurred or low-resolution image
• A signature that is cut off
• The wrong image, a blank image, or a thumb impression

The signature must match at the CBT, the CBAT, Document Verification, the Medical Examination, and appointment.

SC/ST certificate

Upload this only if you want the free train travel pass.

• PDF only.
• Less than 400 KB.
• Clear, and valid on the closing date.

How to apply

Para 16 of the CEN:

1. Read the CEN on rrb.indianrailways.gov.in.
2. Create an account, or use the account from an earlier RRB CEN. Use the link on the unified RRB site.
3. Use your own mobile number and email. They cannot be changed later.
4. You are advised to verify with DigiLocker or Aadhaar. Another photo ID means stricter checks.
5. Choose one RRB only. Then set the order of zones.
6. Fill the form. Check it before you submit.
7. Take the live photo.
8. Upload the signature. Upload the SC/ST PDF only if you want the free travel pass.
9. Pay the fee online.
10. Wait for the email and SMS. Save a copy of the application.

You cannot edit the form after you submit it, except in the modification window, and only by paying ₹250 each time.

Common mistakes

• More than one RRB. This CEN has one pay level (Level 6). The CEN says more than one RRB, or more than one application, leads to rejection of all applications and debarment from future RRB and RRC exams. The FAQ says the same for more than one RRB at the same pay level.
• LASIK or other eye surgery. You are not eligible for Station Master (Medical Standard A-2). Para 6, note (b).
• No vision certificate at CBAT. Bring Annexure VI, or Annexure VI A if you are an Ex-Serviceman, in original. Without it you cannot sit the CBAT.
• Self-Screening Medical Declaration. The FAQ says you declare fitness at the application stage, including no LASIK, eyesight, hearing, speech, mental fitness, and conditions such as diabetes or hypertension. A report is generated. On CBAT day it must be signed by a General Physician and an Eye Specialist, from a Central or State Government hospital or a medical college.
• Waiting for your final exam result. You are not eligible to apply.
• A date of birth that does not match the 10th certificate.
