How to check UGC NET fee payment status (December 2026)

The UGC NET December 2026 application window has closed.

The last date for the online application, and for upload of images, was 31 October 2026, up to 11:50 PM.

Fee payment for a form that was already submitted was extended to 1 November 2026, up to 11:50 PM. That window has also closed.

The correction window is 2 November 2026 to 4 November 2026, up to 11:50 PM. No correction is accepted after that.

The uploaded photograph and the uploaded signature cannot be changed in this window.

Use only the official portal, ugcnet.nta.nic.in. A later notice on that site will apply.

This page helps you check whether the fee went through, and whether the Confirmation Page downloads.

Registration was not complete without the fee

Many candidates think "I registered, so I am done". That is not true.

The Information Bulletin says your application is successful only after the fee is received.

It also says a form stays incomplete if Step 2 (form + uploads) and Step 3 (fee) are not done. Such forms are rejected.

So check three things:

1. Form filled and submitted.
2. Photo and signature uploaded.
3. Fee paid successfully.

How many candidates were still pending?

As reported by Times Now (30 Oct 2026), quoting NTA data updated at 10:24 AM IST on 30 October, before the window closed:

• Total registered: 9,60,548
• Fee paid: 7,91,144
• Fee still pending: 1,69,404

Out of the pending group, Times Now says 1,33,295 had not yet uploaded the photo and signature.

Those figures are from 30 October. The application window has since closed.

Key dates

The notice of 27 October 2026 extended submission and fee payment till 31 October 2026, up to 11:50 PM, without late fee. The notices of 1 and 2 November 2026, and the Information Bulletin, set the dates below.

The Bulletin first had a late-fee window of 29–31 October with a ₹500 late fee. The 27 October notice replaced it. The extended window had no late fee. It has closed.

The notice of 1 November 2026 did not extend registration, submission of the form, or upload of images. It extended only the fee, and only for a form already submitted, till 1 November 2026, up to 11:50 PM.

The notice of 2 November 2026 gives the correction window as 2 November 2026 to 4 November 2026, up to 11:50 PM. The date table in the Bulletin still prints an earlier closing date. Follow the later notices.

Fee and file sizes

Bank or gateway charges and GST are extra. They depend on how you pay. See Annexure I of the Bulletin.

Photo and signature

The photo can be colour or black and white. 80% face must be visible, with ears, no mask, on a white background.

NTA has not given a pixel size. Follow the KB limits.

If the upload screen shows a different limit, follow the form.

How to check your fee payment status

Follow these steps. Button names on the portal may look a little different. Follow what the portal shows.

1. Open ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
2. Click the candidate login / application form link for UGC NET December 2026.
3. Log in with your Application Number and password (or the sign-in method you used, such as Meri Pehchaan).
4. Check the status of all three steps: form, uploads and fee.
5. Look at the fee status. The Bulletin asks you to make sure it shows as successful.
6. Try to download the Confirmation Page.

The simple test

The Bulletin says the Confirmation Page is made only after successful payment.

• Confirmation Page downloads? Your fee is paid. Save it.
• No Confirmation Page? Your fee is not confirmed yet. Read the next section.

Paid, but no Confirmation Page?

Money cut from your account but no Confirmation Page? Do not panic. Do these in order.

1. Wait a little and log in again. Then check the fee status.
2. Contact your bank or payment gateway. Their helpline numbers and emails are in Annexure I of the Bulletin. Ask them if the payment was successful.
3. Still not shown on the portal? Contact the NTA helpline: 011-40759000, or email ugcnet@nta.ac.in.
4. The fee window has closed. A second payment is no longer open on the portal. The notice of 1 November 2026 closed fee payment on 1 November 2026, up to 11:50 PM, and only for a form already submitted.

What about the extra money?

• A duplicate payment that reaches NTA is refunded through the same payment mode, after NTA's fee reconciliation.
• A failed payment that never reached NTA is refunded by the bank after reconciliation.

Keep these details ready when you ask for help (Annexure I, Bulletin):

• Bank or payment gateway name
• Date and time of the transaction
• Transaction number
• Bank reference number
• Proof of transaction
• Screenshot of the payment page (if it failed)

The fee window has closed. If the status is still not successful, use the helpline above. Do not rely on paying again.

What a complete form included

The application window has closed. These were the steps before it closed.

1. Log in on ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
2. Complete any pending part of the form.
3. Take the live photograph inside the form (webcam, or scan the QR code with your phone).
4. Upload the scanned photo (JPG, 10–200 KB) and signature (JPG, 10–50 KB).
5. Check every detail once. The correction window is the only later chance, and only for the fields the 2 November notice opens.
6. Pay the fee by SBI, Canara Bank or UBI gateway (net banking, debit card, credit card or UPI).
7. Check that the fee status is successful.
8. Download, save and print the Confirmation Page.

Save your Confirmation Page

• Download it and save it on your phone and computer.
• Take a printout.
• The Bulletin asks candidates to keep 2–5 copies of the Confirmation Page and admit card.
• You do not need to send it to NTA by post, email, WhatsApp or hand.

Made a mistake in the form?

NTA does not edit any details for you.

The correction window is 2 November 2026 to 4 November 2026, up to 11:50 PM. The notice of 2 November 2026 says this facility is provided only once. Once the corrected form is submitted, it is frozen.

No correction is accepted after 4 November 2026, 11:50 PM.

The same notice says you cannot change the mobile number, email address, permanent or present address, uploaded photograph, or uploaded signature.

You can change one of candidate name, father’s name, or mother’s name. You can change the examination city preference. You can also change date of birth, gender, category, sub-category / PwBD if it is not verified on the UDID portal, and subject. If a change raises the fee, you pay the extra amount. Fees already paid are not refunded.
