How to use the 8th pay commission salary estimator
New Basic Pay here is current Basic Pay times the factor you type, rounded to the nearest rupee. That is the method in the 7th CPC rules. It is not an 8th CPC rule, because none has been notified. Gross now uses today’s rules: DA at 63%, and HRA at 30%, 20% or 10% because DA is above 50%, with a minimum of ₹5,400, ₹3,600 or ₹1,800.
- Pick your Level and cell from the 7th CPC Pay Matrix, or type your Basic Pay.
- Type a fitment factor. 2.57 was the 7th CPC figure. It is not the 8th CPC figure.
- Pick your HRA city class.
- Type your own guess for DA and HRA after revision. The starting guesses are 0% DA and the 7th CPC start rate for HRA.
